We have lately been receiving complaints about unsolicited and misleading phone calls being made to our policyholders on their mobile/landline numbers.
The modus-operandi of such callers is to pose as officials of Tata AIA Life or the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) and instill fear and skepticism in the minds of our policyholders with respect to their insurance policies, by providing false and fabricated information about the performance of their funds, amount of bonuses they receive, or any other information. Riding on this fear, they proceed to encourage our policyholders to surrender their TALIC insurance policies and buy new policies from TALIC / some other insurance company, by promising better returns, bonuses, etc.
Please note that TALIC DOES NOT advise/ encourage its policyholders to discontinue their insurance policies.
We urge each one of you to safeguard yourself in this regard by observing the following steps:
Do not entertain calls or respond to emails which promise you undue benefits on your policy, even if the caller claims to be from TALIC or even the IRDA.
Register and get details of all our products and your insurance policies from TALIC website (www.tataaia.com) or by calling on helpline number 1860-266-9966 (local charges apply) or by writing at Customercare@tataaia.com.
Always remember to pay your premium by 'Cheque' in favour of "TALIC Policy Number" at our branches or through authorized centers mentioned on our website (www.tataaia.com).
Please register written reports of such spurious calls, with details thereof, at the nearest TALIC so that quick action can be taken.
Kindly verify the credentials of the agent, including his/ her licence (issued by the IRDA) and Identity Card (issued by TALIC), before surrendering any existing policy and/ or buying a new policy.
